Dr. D. L. Teamor is an accomplished American pastor, author, scholar, and corporate executive whose life’s work bridges technological innovation, spiritual leadership, and humanitarian service. Known dynamically as an author and a bishop, Dr. Teamor has spent decades navigating the intersections of corporate management, advanced academia, and faith-based community advocacy.
Her professional journey began in the corporate technology sector at just 19 years old when she joined IBM as a computer technician. Demonstrating a sharp aptitude for operations, she was quickly charged with regional operations management at age 21. This early success launched a robust corporate career spanning the technology, automotive, education, and real estate industries. Her corporate portfolio includes key roles such as Director of Marketing for Achip Technologies, Program Manager for the Detroit Public Schools, and management positions at First Mountain Mortgage.
Paralleling her corporate rise is an extensive academic background. Dr. Teamor holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, an MBA, a Ph.D. in Business Marketing, and a second doctorate, a Th.D. in Systematic Theology. This rare combination of corporate strategy and theological scholarship enables her to approach community leadership with both structural practicality and spiritual depth.
Dr. Teamor stepped into spiritual leadership when she attained a ministerial license in 2000. She was ordained the following year and planted a church, Mt. Calvary House of Prayer in 2007. In 2015, she became the Senior Pastor and later, Bishop of Mt. Olive Multicultural Community Church (started in 1992 by her father, Rev. Jameson L. Teamor as Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church of Southfield,) establishing an inclusive, socially conscious sanctuary. Her ministry emphasizes tangible community action, which led her to found Calvary House Veteran Support in 2008. This 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization partners with agencies like the United Way to provide critical intervention, housing support, and suicide prevention resources for at-risk U.S. veterans.
Beyond the pulpit and the boardroom, Dr. Teamor is a highly prolific literary voice. She has authored over 16 books spanning corporate strategy, theology, inspirational wellness, and fiction, with notable titles including 175 Days of Happy and The Porcelain Mask. Her written commentaries have been featured across mainstream media platforms, including Yahoo News and the Chicken Soup for the Soul anthology series. Today, Dr. Teamor continues to write and lead, remaining a powerful advocate for institutional progress and social reform.
